Empowering Student Voices
ESV Council
The San Mateo-Foster City School District (SMFCSD) Empowering Student Voices (ESV) meets with our Superintendent, Diego Ochoa, throughout the year to advise, provide impactful feedback, engage in meaningful dialogue, and present viable solutions on District initiatives and programs. The ESV Council also acts as the advisory council to the Board of Trustees with the Superintendent’s guidance.
By amplifying student voices and conveying their perspectives to administrators and our Board, the council ensures that students' concerns, interests, and suggestions are being heard and considered in decision-making processes.
At the heart of this empowering initiative stands our dedicated students. Defining student voice goes beyond acknowledging students' ability to express their thoughts and opinions. It entails creating opportunities for students to participate in decision-making processes influencing their educational journey.
