2027-2028 New Student Registration Process

2027-2028 new student registration information and important dates will be posted on this page at the end of October 2026.

Thank you for choosing the San Mateo-Foster City School District for your child's education! We are excited to welcome you to our schools and help guide you through the process of registering your child.

For the 2027-2028 school year, students are eligible to enter:

  • Kindergarten if they have reached 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2027. Date of birth is between September 2, 2021 - September 1, 2022.
  • Transitional Kindergarten (TK) if they have reached 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2027. Date of birth is between September 2, 2022 - September 1, 2023.

Early admittance to Kindergarten or TK is not permitted.

Kindergarten-aged students are not admitted to TK.

TK-aged students are not admitted to Kindergarten.

Students are enrolled based on the grade eligible according to their date of birth. There are no exceptions.
