2026-2027 New Student Registration Process

New student registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open!

The priority registration period closed at 5:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Registrations submitted after the priority deadline are processed after all those received by the priority registration deadline.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION PROCESS AND INFORMATION

HOW TO REGISTER A NEW STUDENT

STEP 1: Locate your child’s school of assignment

Visit the School Assignments page to locate your child's school of assignment.

STEP 2: Collect all required registration documents

Required registration documents must be complete and up-to-date in order to be accepted by the school office.

STEP 3: Complete and submit the New Student Registration Form

STEP 4: Submit all required registration documents to complete the new student registration process

The office staff of the school of assignment will review and verify the required registration documents. Documents can be uploaded in the online registration form or can be given directly to the school office staff either by email or in-person at the school office.
Registration is considered complete only after you have completed document verification in Step #4.
Step #4 must be completed by 5:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026 in order to be considered within priority.

AGE AND GRADE LEVEL ELIGIBLITY

For the 2026-2027 school year, students are eligible to enter:

Kindergarten if they have reached 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2026. Date of birth is between September 2, 2020 - September 1, 2021.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) if they have reached 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2026. Date of birth is between September 2, 2021 - September 1, 2022.

Early admittance to Kindergarten or TK is not permitted.

Kindergarten-aged students are not admitted to TK.

TK-aged students are not admitted to Kindergarten.

Students are enrolled based on the grade eligible according to their date of birth. There are no exceptions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If you have not previously used Aeries Registration to register a new student in the SMFCSD, you will need to create an Aeries Registration account.
- Please use the Create New Account option when prompted in the registration form if you have not previously registered a student using Aeries Registration.
- If you have an Aeries Parent Portal account for a currently enrolled SMFCSD student, that account information will not log you in to Aeries Registration because Aeries Registration and Aeries Parent Portal are separate from one another.

The Priority Registration window is Monday, December 1 at 12:00 pm (noon) through Monday, January 5, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
School sites will continue to accept new student registrations after Priority Registration has ended on January 5. Those registrations are not considered to have priority, which means the school of assignment may already be full at the time of registration.
If your school of assignment does not have a TK program, your child will be placed at a school that does for their TK year and then return to their school of assignment for Kindergarten the following school year.
Students who live within the school attendance area get first priority for attending their assigned school if they register during the stated New Student Priority Registration timeframe. However, if classes are already filled at the time of registration, the Enrollment Office will assign – also referred to as “overflow” – students to a school that has space available for the duration of the school year. Students automatically return to their school of assignment based on address of residence the following year or have the option to request a transfer to stay at the overflow school.
District Residency: Students must be physically living with their parent/guardian within district boundaries at the time of registration (AR 5111/Education Code 48200). Ownership of real property within the district does not in and of itself constitute residency.
Students who do not attend school for the first three days of school will be disenrolled on the third day of school.
