Volunteering

Level 1 Volunteers

Level 1 volunteers are NOT PERMITTED to be alone with students out of the direct supervision of a certificated District employee. Level 1 volunteers do not have to complete fingerprinting or mandated reporter training. A copy of Tuberculosis clearance (within 60 days) must be provided if they will volunteer with frequent or prolonged contact with students.

Step 1: Volunteers notify the office that they would like to volunteer.

Step 2: The school office collects a copy of the following:
● Copy of driver's license/other government-issued IDs
● A copy of Tuberculosis clearance within 60 days. The TB clearance or risk assessment will be reviewed and approved by our District Nurses.

Step 3: A field in Aeries will identify when the volunteer has received TB clearance.

Level 2 volunteers

Level 2 Volunteers are those who are alone with students without being under the direct supervision of a certificated District employee (i.e., field trips).

Level 2 volunteers must do the following before volunteering:

  • Fingerprinting

Step 1: Volunteers notify the office that they would like to volunteer.

Step 2: The school office will provide a Live Scan form with the school name on it. You may go to any facility that uses "Livescan."
