INFORMATION
This parcel tax exemption is for the 2023-2024 fiscal year (beginning July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024). The application form is for both Measures, B and V.
Requirements
- Applications must be signed by the qualifying applicant and dated.
- The application must include:
o A copy of your ID, Driver’s License, or the Medicare cards.
o A copy of your most recent Property Tax Bill.
- Applications must be received by June 16, 2023 in order to qualify for the 2023-2024 Exemption.
Who Qualifies
- Property Owners who are 65 years of age or older as of July 1, 2023.
- The main residence must be in the City of San Mateo or City of Foster City.
How Much is the Exemption Amount
The current exemptions for Measures B and V are $126.58 and $324.65 respectively.

Do I need to Re-apply Every Year?
Once the exemption has been granted, it will remain in place for the term of the parcel tax. You do not need to reapply for the exemption every year, unless there is a change on the property ownership.
NOTE
If your mailing address is NOT THE SAME as your property address, please include a copy of your telephone bill in your name for your property address.
This exemption is only available to community members who live in the City on San Mateo or City of Foster City.
Properties that have multiple owners of 65 years of age or older, one or all can be listed on the same application.
