What are Pandemic-EBT (P-EBT) Food Benefits?

Due to COVID0-19, children who receive or are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school can receive a one-time payment of $365 per eligible child to help families in California buy food when school is closed.

P-EBT benefits will arrive in the form of a card — use it like a debit card for food and groceries.

do I need to apply?

Most families with children already receiving CalFresh, CalWORKS, Medi-Cal or other social services benefits should receive payment cards in the mail by Friday, May 22.
