There was great interest in the position of Principal of the New School in Foster City.  After three rigorous panel interviews, Mrs. Amy Snow was selected. She was accepted by the Board of Trustees at their December 19, 2019 meeting.

Mrs. Snow holds a Masters from San Diego State University, both Single Subject and Multiple Subject teaching credentials, and an Administrative Services credential. She has been an elementary and middle school teacher at private and public schools. She has also served as an Instructional Coach in the area of English Language Arts, supporting classroom teachers in moving their practices forward in order to meet the needs of all students.

Most recently, Mrs. Snow has served as the Principal of Beresford Elementary School in the San Mateo–Foster City School District. In that role, she worked with staff to improve student achievement, create a positive school climate and increase family engagement. In the last couple of years, the Beresford team implemented a new language arts curriculum, a new math curriculum and incorporated new strategies to support English Learners. Mrs. Snow was also instrumental in bringing Notre Dame de Namur University student teachers and professors to Beresford to create a lab school.  She is known in the District for her student-centered approach, collaborative style and knowledge of research-based practices.

Mrs. Snow is excited to connect with the community and build the program. Congratulations to Mrs. Amy Snow!
