Dear San Mateo-Foster City Community,

Please join me and the San Mateo-Foster City School District’s Board of Trustees at the District Office (1170 Chess Drive, Foster City) on Thursday, June 8 from 5:00-7:00 pm for a Study Session to discuss the budget impacts of our failed Measure Y Parcel Tax and considerations for a potential future parcel tax campaign, which will be followed by a School Board Candidate Information Session from 7:30-8:30 pm. 
 
We are hosting the Information Session because this November, voters will elect three new SMFCSD School Board Trustees for a three-year term.  The current Board of Trustees encourages San Mateo and Foster City residents who may be interested in serving on the School Board to come to this information session to hear perspectives on the following questions:

  • What are the primary responsibilities and time commitments of a Board Member?
  • What is the role of a Board Member?
  • What is the process for becoming a candidate for School Board?

The Board will also be available to answer any other questions you may have.  We hope you will be able to join us!
