What is Measure A?
Measure A is an education parcel tax approved by voters in 2010 to provide stable local funding to help protect educational programs in our San Mateo and Foster City schools. It generates $7 million annually for local schools ($209.92 per parcel annually, approximately $17.50 per month). No funds can be used for administrator salaries or pensions and funds cannot be taken by the State.
While Measure A provides $7 million, it supports but does not cover the total expenses. Preserving quality education by attracting and retaining qualified teachers and staff by:
Maintaining school libraries
Providing middle school art programs
Providing music programs
Supporting programs which will enhance student achievement
- Supporting small class sizes
Providing funding for P.E. programs and student counseling programs
Thank you to the communities of San Mateo and Foster City for supporting programs that enhance the quality of education in our District.
