NEW STUDENT TRANSFER REQUEST PROCESS
Before requesting a transfer, parents/guardians NEW to the district must first register at the school of assignment by completing the New Student Registration process. Parents/guardians will have the option to request a transfer after submitting a completed online InfoSnap new student registration form. Parents/guardians may apply for up to 2 schools of choice. All transfer requests received by the deadline of 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 21 will be entered into the school/program lottery. Transfer requests received after the deadline will automatically be added to the transfer request list. Parents/guardians will be contacted if a seat becomes available at the requested school. The transfer request deadline applies both to magnet schools and schools of assignment.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A TRANSFER FOR MY CURRENTLY ENROLLED SMFCSD STUDENT?
The Transfer Request Window opens at 12:00 pm (noon) on Monday, December 4 and closes at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Parents/guardians may apply for a transfer at ANY TIME during the transfer request window in order to be entered into the school/program lottery. Transfer requests received after the deadline will automatically be added to the transfer request list. Transfer request status emails will be sent out by the end of the business day on Friday, February 2, 2018. Please note: in order for your request to be processed, you will need to enter your child’s student ID number in the transfer request form. Please locate it before filling out the transfer request form. Student ID numbers can be found on report cards, student ID cards, and class schedules. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY TO THE DISTRICT’S MAGNET PROGRAMS?
If applying to College Park, Fiesta Gardens, or the District Montessori Program for grades 1-5, students will need to be assessed by a teacher and the Principal before being accepted into the program, kindergarten-aged students do not need to be assessed. Students applying to the Abbott Middle School Spanish immersion program and Bayside Academy Mandarin immersion programs must have completed the elementary immersion program at Fiesta Gardens for Abbott and College Park for Bayside Academy 6-8.
WHAT IF I WANT MY CHILD TO ATTEND A DISTRICT-WIDE MAGNET SCHOOL WITH THEIR SIBLING?
District-wide magnet schools (College Park, Fiesta Gardens, North Shoreview Montessori & Parkside Montessori) will not be taking registration at their school sites. You must begin the registration process at your school of assignment, complete and submit the online InfoSnap new student registration form, and then apply for a transfer, requesting sibling preference, to attend the magnet school by December 21, 2017.
Transfers will only be granted if there is room in the school and grade level requested. Applicants on the transfer request list will be contacted only if the transfer has been granted. Transfer requests expire on the first day of school; transfers will not be granted after that day.
