priority entrance for those living within the boundary of the new school

Limited number of classrooms will be opened for the 2020-2021 school year

important information

  • Enrollment for the 2020-21 school year will be voluntary. Students who live within the boundary of the school are invited to apply (see boundary information to the right).  Students will be enrolled as long as the District’s desired class sizes are maintained. If there are more students than needed for the classes that have been planned for a particular grade level, then a lottery for that grade level will be held to determine who will be enrolled and who will be placed on a wait list for spaces that may open up.  Siblings of students enrolled in other grades in the new school will have priority in the lottery.
  • The District is working on establishing the temporary location for the new school at Foster City Elementary School, which is at the corner of Beach Park and Edgewater Blvds.   Foster City School received the highest preference from parents/guardians for the temporary location.   The new school’s classes of students and their teachers, as well as the Principal and other support staff, will be relocated from their classrooms at the temporary location to the new school once it is ready for occupancy which, at this time, is projected to be between October 2020 and January 2021.

  • The principal for the new school will be named at the School Board meeting on December 19.  This page will be updated on December 20 with the announcement.
