All classified positions require completion of a District application, including a copy of applicant’s high school diploma or equivalent, and appropriate testing.

TESTING INFORMATION

  • Most positions require testing.  Passing score is 70%.  At the end of each job description you will find the testing requirement for the position. Verification of high school diploma or GED or Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Testing is by appointment ONLY.  A district application (and typing certificate, if applicable) must be submitted before an appointment can be scheduled for testing.
  • Complete job descriptions are available at any job site or in the Human Resources Department.
  • Proof of citizenship or legal status will be required upon offer of employment.

Classified employees are represented by the California School Employees Association (CSEA) and may be eligible to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS)

BUILDING TRADES TECHNICIAN

Salary Range 58 (Entry Level $29.68)

  • 1 position – 8 hrs/day (Maintenance & Operations)

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, to perform advanced journey-level skilled building trades and related work in heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, telecommunications, electronics and/or electrical trades; to perform skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled work in other building trades, as assigned; and to perform related work as required.

  • **Possession of valid and appropriate California Driver’s License.
  • **Possession of EPA Section 608, CFC universal certification, which may be obtained at District cost, is required as a condition of continued employment for HVAC positions
  • **Possession of Power Actuated Anchoring System License is required and may be obtained at District cost.

CONFIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

Salary $36.81

  • 1 Position – 8 hrs/day (District Office, Business Services)

Definition

Under the general direction of the Chief Business Official, assist by planning, coordinating, and participating in the support acrivities related to the responsibilities of the District’s business operations; receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures; requires initiative, organizational skills, analytical and problem solving skills, and independent judgment in the processing of routine office details not requiring the immediate attention of the Chief Business Official. This position deals directly with collective bargaining data.

  • **Associate of Arts Degree/Bachelor’s Degree is desirable.
  • **Typing Certificate for 60+wpm to be submitted with application.

CUSTODIAN – NIGHT

Salary Range 46 (Entry Level $21.99/hr)

  • 1 Position – 2 hrs/day (Beresford) 4:00–6:00 pm

Definition

Under supervision, to keep assigned buildings, classrooms, and office spaces clean and orderly; to perform custodial tasks in the care of floors, furniture, walls, and equipment; to perform minor building and grounds maintenance and general gardening work, to operate small power custodial and grounds equipment; and to perform related work as required.

FINANCIAL FACILITIES ANALYST

Salary Range 60 (Entry Level $31.81/hr)

  • 1 position – 8 hrs/day (District Office)

Definition

Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Financial Facilities Analyst performs responsible technical and professional fiscal accounting and auditing functions for the District’s Measure L and other Facilities related accounts and other financial records; to ensure that District financial statements, reports, and records are accurate. Employees in this classification receive limited supervision within a broad framework of standard policies and procedures. This position is responsible for exercising independent judgement and decision-making regarding standard accounting procedures for the District.

  • **BA in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent to a College Degree in accounting or related fields
  • **5+ years of work experience related to Facilities modernization and public school construction accounting practices and procedures.
  • **possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ANALYST

Salary Range 72 (Entry Level $41.94/hr)

  • 1 position – 8 hrs/day (District Office) Start Date: 08/22/2020

Definition

Under the supervision of the System Administrator, this position is responsible for technical and analytical duties in the operation of the organization, client/server and computer systems and networks. The duties include work in the areas of user and system requirements and analysis, applications development and maintenance, computer system support, network maintenance and data/database analysis/administration.

  • **BA or BS in Computer Science. Engineering or equivalent computer science major.
  • **3+ years experience in Systems integration/management, computer/server hardware and software
  • **Industry Standard Server Administration, Virtualization certifications

SCHOOL OPERATIONS TEAM LEADER

Salary Range 48  (Entry Level $23.13)

  • 1 position – 8 hrs/day, 7:00am-3:30pm (Beach Park)

Definition

Under general supervision, to coordinate daily school cleaning, repair, activity set-up, safety inspections, and security activities with the site principal, to keep buildings, grounds, and office space clean and orderly; to perform custodial, storekeeping, and light grounds and building maintenance tasks in the service of a school; to lead a small crew of custodians; and to perform related work as required.

UTILITY WORKER

Salary Range 48 (Entry Level $23.13/hr)

  • 3 position – 8 hrs/day (Maintenance and Operations)

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, to drive a District vehicle in the pickup and delivery of equipment, furniture, building materials, parts, supplies and other items to school sites, District and public offices, and suppliers; and to perform related work as required.

Definition

Under general supervision, to learn and perform skilled food production work in the central kitchen to prepare and package food for distribution to satellite kitchens; to learn and perform skilled work in a satellite kitchen to heat food, set up serving areas, serve and sell food; to clean kitchen utensils, equipment and work surfaces; and do other related work as required.

Definition

Under general supervision, to provide specialized instructional, behavioral, physical, and medical assistance to exceptional students with severe handicaps; to operate a specialized learning center for special needs students; to provide instructional record keeping support; to perform routine clerical duties; and to perform related work as required. Assist student in toileting and personal hygiene, change soiled clothing, and remind student to use bathroom.  CPR and First Aid required.

Definition

Under general supervision, to identify at-risk students with attendance, illness, emotional/social needs and problems; to develop working relationships with students, parents, community groups and social service agencies, to assist in resolving attendance and other problems that interfere with school success; to discuss school programs, attendance requirement, behavior problems, and available services with parents; and to perform related work as required.

SITE KITCHEN OPERATOR-ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Salary Range 39 (Entry Level $18.50/hr)

  • 1 position - 3.5 hrs/day, (Laurel) 9:45-10:45am, 11:30am - 2:00pm
  • 1 position - 2.5 hrs/day, (Parkside) 10:15am - 11:45am, 12:00 - 1:00 pm

Definition

Under general supervision, oversee daily site kitchen operations for the Child Nutrition Programs at an elementary school setting.  Participate in the preparation, cooking/heating and serving of hot and cold menu items to students and staff at an assigned elementary school site kitchen including but not limited to summer school and after school programs.  Maintain the kitchen and serving areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition; requisition, receive and store food and supplies; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff and/or students; and to do related work as required.
