All classified positions require completion of a District application, including a copy of applicant’s high school diploma or equivalent, and appropriate testing.

TESTING INFORMATION

  • Most positions require testing.  Passing score is 70%.  At the end of each job description you will find the testing requirement for the position. Verification of high school diploma or GED or Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Testing is by appointment ONLY.  A district application (and typing certificate, if applicable) must be submitted before an appointment can be scheduled for testing.
  • Complete job descriptions are available at any job site or in the Human Resources Department.
  • Proof of citizenship or legal status will be required upon offer of employment.

Classified employees are represented by the California School Employees Association (CSEA) and may be eligible to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS)

CUSTODIAN – NIGHT

Salary Range 46 (Entry Level $18.70/hr)

  • 1 position - 6 hrs/day (3 hours at Bayside Middle School / 3 hours at Baywood School)
  • 1 position - 8 hrs/day (6 hours at George Hall School / 2 hours at Meadow Heights School)
  • 1 position – 4 hrs/day (Shared between Borel Middle School and Meadow Heights School)

Definition

Under supervision, to keep assigned buildings, classrooms, and office spaces clean and orderly; to perform custodial tasks in the care of floors, furniture, walls, and equipment; to perform minor building and grounds maintenance and general gardening work, to operate small power custodial and grounds equipment; and to perform related work as required.

DATA ANALYST

Salary Range 52 (Entry Level $23.17/hr)

  • 1 position – 7.5 hrs/day (District Office, Educational Services Department)

Definition

Respond to and fulfill basic data requests from school sites and district administrators as directed and provide follow up as needed.  Compile and format information from a variety of sources including the district’s data systems and external data systems to fulfill requests.  Review reports prepared utilizing district data.  Work with district technical staff to obtain, clean, and process data from the student information system, assessment portals, and other relevant sources.  Prepare, clean, and format data reports for integration with other data systems, or other required reporting functions.

Schedule and maintain assessment records, verify and support the import of student data between data systems.  Answer phones, respond to emails and assist the Coordinator as needed.  Communicate with district staff and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues as directed by the Coordinator.

Definition

Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, the primary focus of this supervisory position is to implement and support networks and be tasked with support and build-outs including VoIP, wireless, video and other communication/collaboration related technologies.  Incumbent has the critical task of: evaluating, designing, implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure for the entire school district.

PROGRAM SECRETARY

Salary Range 46 (Entry Level $19.94/hr)

Definition

Under general supervision, to coordinate daily school cleaning, repair, activity ser-up, safety inspections, and security activities with the site principal, to keep buildings, grounds, and office space clean and orderly; to perform custodial, storekeeping, and light grounds and building maintenance tasks in the service of a school; to lead a small crew of custodians; and to perform related work as required.

Definition

Under direction, to perform skilled large quantity cooking and baking; to guide, train, monitor, and correct the work of staff in food preparation, packaging and delivery; to operate a school site nutrition service program; and to do other related work as directed.

License required

-Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License.

-Possession of a valid Children’ Center Permit issued by the state of California; or possession of a current and valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or completion of 12 college units in recreation, physical education, elementary education or early childhood development; or a teaching credential.

Definition

Under general supervision, oversee daily site kitchen operations for the Child Nutrition Programs at an elementary school setting.  Participate in the preparation, cooking/heating and serving of hot and cold menu items to students and staff at an assigned elementary school site kitchen including but not limited to summer school and after school programs.  Maintain the kitchen and serving areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition; requisition, receive and store food and supplies; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff and/or students; and to do related work as required.

SENIOR FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANT

Salary Range 37 (Entry Level $15.01/hr)

Definition

Under general supervision, to learn and perform skilled food production work in the central kitchen to prepare and package food for distribution to satellite kitchens; to learn and perform skilled work in a satellite kitchen to heat food, set up serving areas, serve and sell food; to clean kitchen utensils, equipment and wok surfaces; and do other related work as required.
